TEACHING
God’s hand has always been evident in my life. I was saved at a young age and quickly found a family in Christ’s Body. God’s people fostered my faith which inevitably led to a call to be a pastor. Jesus’ example in Philippians 2:5-11 profoundly shaped my understanding of this calling. Within this calling, God has instilled in me a deep passion to develop communities of kingdom life. I believe this can be done by connecting people together, teaching sound theology, and embracing the life-giving rituals of the Church.
02 Sermon Series
03 Experience
The majority of my positions shared regular duties of weekly programing and facilitating of worship (mostly youth), teaching Bible study (all ages), planning and executing regular outings (youth & family), training volunteers, and connecting people in the church together. Below are the unique highlights of my service to Christ's Body that went beyond the routine:
2021 - 2024
CHAPEL OF THE CROSS
Anchorage, AK
2017 - 2021
FREEDOM CHAPEL
San Antonio, TX
Protestant Youth Coordinator
In this position, I maintained a program of 60 students in a constantly fluctuating demographic, military kids in an Air Force chapel. My resources were often shared with other religious groups. I produced various digital material to enhance our social media presence, engaging the parents of our students. Despite many challenges, I am most proud of is the inroads I built with the on-base school and youth center.
Youth & Family Pastor
While serving in this position, I managed a joint youth group between two Nazarene churches in the Anchorage Bowl. I also brought an emphasis of family ministry by orchestrating monthly family worship moments, a family devotional hour during the week, and constructing a play area in our basement that attracted local family to our facilities. Last, I spearheaded a rebranding effort for Chapel of the Cross by constructing a new website, and updating our worship space.
2014 - 2017
CHRIST COMMUNITY
Concord, CA
2013 - 2014
WESTSIDE NAZARENE
Olathe, KS
Youth Intern
On top of going to college full-time to study ministry, I weekly set up a sanctuary for worship, mentored a group of teenager boys, and reinstated a hospitality ministry connecting weekly with students we hadn't seen recently.
Youth Pastor
In this multiethnic congregation in the heart of the Bay Area, I intentionally sought to connect with students in their space by going to their school during their lunch periods. My yearly fundraisers also collected thousands of dollars so that all the students could attend events. Additionally amidst an 18-month pastoral search process after our senior pastor died, I provided support to our congregation. All the while, I started and completed my MDiv through Fuller Theological Seminary. Lastly, I completed the ministerial candidate program resulting in my ordination as an elder.
2011 - 2013
FORT SCOTT NAZARENE
Fort Scott, KS
Middle School Pastor
In this rural town, I established a middle school specific ministry from a conjoined youth group. This involved establishing a space to gather, acquiring resources, and training new volunteers. Beyond this, I lead the worship team for the remaining high school ministry.
